Happy Friday Friends! I’m taking a break from my usual weekly Fun Friday 5 today.
This weekend J and I are going to go visit my parents, brother, and dog on Vancouver Island and I can’t wait for both of us to unwind, unplug and spend some quality time with family. The plan is to RELAX. I’ve already warned J that he isn’t allowed to do any blogging work until we get home Sunday night so he’s trying to get in as much work as he can today on his day off. Seriously, the boy spends so much time on his blog and online work, it’s crazy! I didn’t really notice before how much time I was spending on my blog until I’ve felt burnt out lately and it’s obvious why. Here is a breakdown of a normal weekday in the life of GMD.
6:00 am: I wake up and start approving comments for my blog, I check out Twitter and start reading my favorite blogs and commenting/sharing.
6:30 am: I shower and get ready for work.
7:40 am: J and I start our work commute downtown and during the train ride, I am on Twitter and reading more blogs and commenting/sharing.
8:30 am: I start work.
12:00 pm: Sometimes J and I will have lunch together and go for a walk if the weather is nice but often I am reading more blogs and commenting/sharing on my lunch break.
5:00 pm: I finish work and during the train ride home, I am reading more blogs and commenting/sharing. 2-3 Times a week J and I work out at the gym after work so we don’t commute home until 6:00 pm.
6:00 pm: J and I get home and he goes straight to his computer and starts work. I will usually turn on the PVR and watch that day’s episode of Dr. Phil while I unwind, and my laptop will be in my lap and I will usually reply to comments during this time.
6:45 pm: We cook dinner together.
7:30 pm: J and I eat dinner and then clean up.
8:00 pm: I might watch some more TV and causally do blog stuff while J is back at his computer doing more work. Recently, I’ve tried to change this routine and tell J that once or twice a weeknight, we should spend some quality time together. Causal date night of sort like watch a movie, go for a walk, or get some frozen yogurt. So far, it’s been going well.
10:30 pm: We go to sleep.
SO. MUCH. BLOGGING.
That was my typical weekday for months until I started to cut back and now I wake up at 6:30 am and head straight for the shower. The blogging stuff can wait until I’m on the train. I also used to push myself to publish 4-5 posts a week but now I’m going to post when I feel like it.
How do y’all fit blogging into your daily life?
