Fun Friday 5 – #9

fun-fiday-5-300x281Happy Friday Everyone!

Here are some random things I enjoyed this week…

1. Of course y’all know my favorite thing this week was when our offer for the condo got accepted!!! If all inspection and all the boring legal stuff goes through as should, then J & I will be moving into our new home June 1st!

2. I bought a big bottle of Starbucks Vanilla Syrup so I can start making my own London Fog Latte at home. For those of you who haven’t heard of a London Fog Latte, it is Earl Grey Tea, with steamed milk and vanilla syrup. Yummy goodness!

3. I had my first blogger meetup last night and it was so much fun! Considering this was my first blog “outing” I was rather nervous, but Cait from Blonde on a Budget, Daisy from Add Vodka, and Jessica from Mo’ Money, Mo’ House couldn’t be more kind and welcoming. We had a lot of girly fun. :)

4. We’ve had some sunny days this week and J & I completely took advantage of the weather by going on a beautiful hike in West Vancouver. I even got my base tan for the summer started!

5. Game of Thrones Season 3 started! I’ve already mentioned many times on this blog how obsessed I am with this tv show and I will say it again – GMD loves Game of Thrones and will nerd talk with anyone about it. Any volunteers? :)

What were some random things you enjoyed this week?

I enjoyed reducing my mortgage payment by $300 (refinance). Woo! I also enjoyed the 2nd episodes of Game of Thrones (Season 1). Looking forward to episode 3 this weekend. We’re watching one episode a week because each one costs $3 and we don’t want to race through it. We always do that with shows and we just end up wanting more.

Wow congrats on reducing your mortgage payment by $300 a month! One episode a week? I was watching like 2-3 episodes a day sometimes lol. But we all know I have no self-control :P

I can’t remember if I said it already or not, but congrats on the condo and I hope the rest of the process finishes smoothly. I’ll have to tell Mrs. Frugal Rules about #2, she loves tea and it sounds like something she’d love. I am happy that we can finally open the windows in the house and actually see some sun as well as do some things outside. :) I still need to convince Mrs. Frugal Rules to start watching Game of Thrones. She did not like the few episodes we watched, but I think it looks cool. Have a great weekend!

I have never heard of a london fog. Granted, I am not a tea or coffee drinker either. That is pretty cool that you were able to meet up with other bloggers. Are you all relatively close to each other?

It was pretty cool to meet up with other fellow bloggers because let’s be honest, not too many people in our “real” lives would be interested in discussing personal finance and blogging :P

You had some good things to be excited about. Nice. I have only seen a few episodes of GOT because I don’t have the channel. I guess I could borrow the DVD of previous seasons from a friend. Good to know that GMD love GOT.

I’ve never seen GOT, but I hear great things. I don’t have HBO (it’s on HBO right) or access to it. So I don’t know how I can watch it.

I love Game of Thrones! I’m currently waiting to get my DVD from the library. I’m number 185 out of 627 people for Season Number 2. I should be getting it soon. Isn’t it great to connect with other pf bloggers?!

Game of thorns is next on my to watch series. I’m on season 4 of true blood right now. AND *Cries* the walking dead is over so I have to find something to fill in the time gap till October when it is back on air :).
And in a financial savvy related comment I save by borrowing the DVDs of seasons (Except the walking dead we go to the boyfriends parents house to watch it :)) but all the other TV shows we either borrow the box sets or watch Netflix :)
    Peace.
